Dear Friends, and Fans of SimGaming.net,

It may look like an April Fool's joke, but I wish it wasn't. SimGaming.net is closing down.

Four years ago today, April 1st, 1998, this site started in it's humble beginnings as the SimCity 3000 News Center. After many designs, and two name changes this site has met it's end as SimGaming.net. It's been a long ride, but it's finally over.

The community just isn't what it used to be. Many fansites such as SimCity HQ, Sim-Games.com, and SimzOnline have already died out. The (sim) community really started when SimCity 3000 was first launched, but I'm afraid that is no more. The focus has changed to The Sims, and to be honest, I'm tired of it. I miss the old "simcity" community, where we were all friends. It's no where near as close knit as it used to be.

But that's not the only reason for the closing of SimGaming.net. It's time for me to move on to other things. I'm no longer a 14 or 15 year old with lots of time on my hands. I'm older now, with more responsibilites, and less time to do other things. It's time for me to cut something out, and it finally came down to this website.

Even while I may sound like I'm ranting about the problems of this community, I really did enjoy the time I did have with this website. Thank you to all the visitors who visited SimGaming.net, and encouraged me on it. I had fun in these past four years, and don't regret it!

Last but not least, I'd like to thanks some close friends. Alex McKenzie, Adam Steinbaugh, Josh Van Hulst, Wren Weburg, Rick Pierce, Brian McMillin, Dustin Bainbridge, Jerm, Kevin Stange, Lisa, Mike, Cliff Kerr, and any others I may have missed. There were so many people that in so many ways helped, or inspired me with some area of the site if they know it or not. Thanks guys!

Oh yeah, can't forget all the great people at Maxis! Most of all, Daniel Grove, Aimee Howe, Andrea Weber, Will Wright, and many others. Thanks for making some of the greatest games, and inspiring me to create a website on them!

Just because this site is closing down, I won't let you feel left out. There's still a few great sites left! To name a few, SNGaming.com which is run by Brian McMillin, SimPage.net which is run by Kevin Stange, and finally, SC3000.com which is run by the great Wren Weburg!

As always, there's many people with questions about SimCity, The Sims, or something simular. Just because this site is shutting down doesn't mean I still won't answer your questions. So if you have a problem, just drop me a line!

For those of you who actually want to see something, the site will always still be available at http://www.simgaming.net/main.php. It just won't ever be updated anymore. Thanks, and so long!

Webmaster and Founder of SimGaming.net,

Jason Wilson
